What might cause a "Winsock 11001 - Host not found" error ?

This error can occur when the any of the following occurs :

  • The server is down
  • The server name or IP address specified in your script or profile is incorrect
  • A network device between your client and server is down or mis-configured.

The failure could also be as a result of undefined proxy settings within the script. Please open Internet Explorer and select TOOLS | INTERNET OPTIONS | CONNECTIONS tab | LAN SETTINGS. Here you should see the proxy server defined. If so define these in your script using the WebSetProxy() function or in SETTINGS | ACTIVE PROFILE | WEB | PROXY.
