When using the RepMessage function why is the specified message not written to the results repository?

By default, when using the RepMessage function the message is written to the results repository only when the specified severity is one of the following:

  • SEVERITY_ERROR
  • SEVERITY_TRANS_EXIT
  • SEVERITY_PROCESS_EXIT

This can be changed so that messages of any severity are written to the repository by changing the setting "Report messages of severity XXXX or higher" to "informational" under SETTINGS | SYSTEM | WORKBENCH | RESULTS Tab:

Messages of any severity are always written to the following files:

  • ERR file
  • .LOG file
  • .RPT file
