Why Do I get the error: OraFormsConnect(OraForms: 21 - Severe Runtime Error, class java.net.ConnectException connect: Address is invalid on local machine, or port is not valid on remote machine)?

Why Do I get the error: OraFormsConnect(OraForms: 21 - Severe Runtime Error, class java.net.ConnectException connect: Address is invalid on local machine, or port is not valid on remote machine)?

This was a known issue (fixed in SilkPerformer version 7.0) when replaying Oracle Forms applications at the socket layer. It was possible to adjust the SilkPerformer script to allow for a successful replay by following the steps detailed below.

  1. Edit the first parameter of the OraFormsInit function to NULL.

    Example:

    OraFormsInit("http://oraformserver:8888/forms90demo/l90servlet", "OraForms", 9000, ORA_FORMS_9I);

    This should now be changed to:

    OraFormsInit(NULL, "OraForms", 9000,ORA_FORMS_9I);

  2. Edit the second parameter in OraformsConnect function to NULL to allow successful replay.

    Example:

    OraFormsConnect( "server module=example.fmx sso_userid=  APPLSYSPUB/PUB@PTS5 fndnam=APPS  config="inte_pts5"
    icx_ticket=".242536042" resp="SYSADMIN/SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR" secgrp="STANDARD" start_func="FND_FNDSCAUS,
    "http://x.x.x.x:7779/forms90/l90servlet?ifcfs=/forms90/f90servlet?config=HL", "http://x.x.x.x:7779/forms90/");

    This should now be changed to:

     OraFormsConnect( "server module=example.fmx sso_userid=  APPLSYSPUB/PUB@PTS5 fndnam=APPS  config="inte_pts5"
    icx_ticket=".242536042" resp="SYSADMIN/SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR" secgrp="STANDARD" start_func="FND_FNDSCAUS, NULL,
    "http://x.x.x.x:7779/forms90/");

Offical Fix:
This was fixed in SilkPerformer version 7.0.
