Why are all perfmon counters not available under "Operating System Data | Windows 2000/XP | System (perfmon)" and how can I access the full list of perfmon counters?

When using Performance Explorer to monitor Windows performance counters, if you choose "Operating System Data | Windows 2000/XP | System (perfmon)" in the Data Source Wizard you are only presented with the most commonly used performance counters.

To access a full list of Windows performance counters you should select "Custom Data | NT Performance Monitor Data".

Then you will be presented with the full list of Windows performance counters for monitoring.
