Why do I get the error message "33: Authentication failed (wrong password)" when trying to connect to an Agent?

Why do I get the error message "33: Authentication failed (wrong password)" when trying to connect to an Agent?

This error will occur when the Agent expects a password but the password sent by the Controller / System Configuration Manager is incorrect.

To correct this open the System Configuration Manager from the TOOLS menu, and use the "Connect To..." button to connect to the remote agent.  This will open the Connection properties of the host.  Check the the "Authenticate" box which will enable the password field, enter the correct Agent password, then click OK.
