Can I replace hard-coded values recorded by SilkTest in a VerifyProperties statement with variables?

Can I replace hard-coded values recorded by SilkTest in a VerifyProperties statement with variables?

Yes, you will be able to replace the property values recorded by SilkTest with variables.

Using Google as an example, the following code is a standard VerifyProperties method recorded by SilkTest by pressing Ctrl-Alt while recording actions. It verifies properties for two objects. By copying the hard-coded values for properties "$Location" and "$Href", we can place these in string variables and then replace them with the variables in the code itself. See the example below.

[ ] // placing recorded values into variables
[ ] string slocation = "http://www.google.co.uk/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi"
[ ] string shref = "http://www.google.co.uk/images/hp1.gif"
[ ]
[-] testcase one () appstate none
    [ ] Google.SetActive ()
    [-] Google.Images.VerifyProperties ({...})
        [ ] ""
        [-] {...}
            [ ] {"Text",                 "Images"}
            [ ]
            [ ] // replaced hard-coded value with the variable slocation
            [ ] // {"$Location",           "http://www.google.co.uk/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi"}
            [ ] {"$Location",            slocation}
            [ ]
    [ ]
    [-] Google.HttpWwwGoogleCoUkImages1.VerifyProperties ({...})
        [ ] ""
        [-] {...}
            [ ] // replaced hard-coded value with the variable href
            [ ] // {"$Href",               "http://www.google.co.uk/images/hp1.gif"}
            [ ] {"$Href",                shref}
