QUESTION

How can I run SilkTest from the command line without having to specify the full path to partner.exe?

ANSWER
----------------------------------
Usually when running the SilkTest from the command line you would have to navigate to the folder where partner.exe resides.

You cannot just type "partner -r" and run SilkTest.

We can make it possible to run the partner command from any file location in the command prompt by adding the SilkTest folder"s full path to the System PATH Environment variable.

Go to "My Computer", right-click and go to "properties".

Go to the "Advanced" Tab and click on "Environment Variables".

Select the path variable and click "Edit".

Now add the path of your SilkTest Folder in the variable value. By default this is C:\Program Files\Segue\SilkTest;

Now when you type partner -r it will open SilkTest automatically.

This can be used when running testscripts or testplans from the Command line.
