How can SilkTest make Session variables time out, if the sleep() method is not able to?

One approach to making session variables time out would be to have a second instance of the browser open and to set it active with SilkTest.

The Browser.FlushCache() method can also be used to force SilkTest to re-examine the page under test and allow the session variable to time out.
