Is there an automated way to read the results of a testcase execution once it has been executed?

Is there an automated way to read the results of a testcase execution once it has been executed?

You could use the ResExportOnClose function.

Before running the testcase for the first time, go to Results/Export and chose the elements you want to be exported. After that, these settings will remain every time the ResExportOnClose function is used.

The following is an example of how the ResExportOnClose is used.

[+] testcase Logging () appstate none
    [ ] ResExportOnClose ("C:\Program Files\Borland\SilkTest\Projects\resultsTesting\current2.rex")

The following is an example of how use the exported results file.

[+] testcase GettingError () appstate none
    [ ] STRING sLine
    [ ] HFILE FHandle
    [ ] FHandle = FileOpen("C:\Program Files\Borland\SilkTest\Projects\resultsTesting\current2.rex",FM_READ)
    [ ] FileReadLine (FHandle, sLine)
    [ ] FileClose(FHandle)
[ ] Print(sLine) //check to see if the line has been retrieved

The following statement exports the most-recent results set from the current results file to current.rex file when the script terminates.

ResExportOnClose ("current.rex")

More information on the ResExportOnClose function can be found in the SilkTest Help.
