SilkTest Workbench: How to prevent Active Data Driven Visual Tests from terminating in event of an error.

When executing Active Data Driven tests in SilkTest Workbench, by default the following dialog will be displayed in the event of an error which will requires manual intervention if the tests are to proceed any further:

If you are executing unattended tests or just want to change this behavior then you will need to configure a custom error handler in your Visual Test as follows:-

1. Select the test step 'Repeat using Active Data...'

2. Right-click and select 'Insert > Error Handling' from the context menu.


3. Select the new Step 'On Error: Show default playback dialog' and expand the Properties view.

4. In the 'Action to take' drop down list, choose 'Resume Next' to resume playback at the next step in the Visual Test. All other options will result in the test being terminated in the event of an error.
