SilkTest Workbench: Why are some buttons and functionality missing from the Object Maps GUI?

When you access an Object Map you should always see three buttons named 'Record New Entry', 'Update Locator' and 'Highlight' that provide core functionality. If some or all of these are not visible on the GUI (as shown in the following screenshot) the most likely reason is that the display settings are set to something other than 100%. When this is the case the dimensions of the WPF control are not correct which causes the window to be truncated as follows:

To resolve this problem on Windows 7 you will need to perform the following steps:

1. Right-Click on the desktop and select 'Screen Resolution' from the context menu.

2. Click on 'Make text and other items larger or smaller' and select the option 'Smaller - 100% (default)'. Click 'Apply' to confirm.

3. Log-off and log back into machine to apply these changes.

4. Start the Workbench and confirm that the buttons and scroll-bar are all accessible.
