SilkTest Workbench "Could not find object '/BrowserApplication'" Error

Problem:

Why does a .Net Script recorded with SilkTest Workbench 13.5, replay successfully against Internet Explorer 8 when BaseState execution is enabled, but consistently fails with the following error, when the BaseState is disabled:

Resolution:

This is a known issue in SilkTest 13.5, that will be addressed with the release of SilkTest 14. In the meantime customers can overcome this issue by changing the Browser setting in the Application Configuration to 'None', and hard-coding the path to Internet Explorer as shown in the following screenshot:
