When I have IBM Rational Functional tester installed why does SilkTest crash and can I workaround this?

When I have IBM Rational Functional tester installed why does SilkTest crash and can I workaround this?

When opening SilkTest with IBM Rational Functional Tester installed the following error message will be displayed and the SilkTest GUI will not open.

Error : Partner executable has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When you install IBM Functional Tester, the SCCI libraries for ClearCase are also installed. SilkTest loads these SCCI libraries during startup, causing a crash.

To workaround this issue, delete the following registry entry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider\ProviderRegKey
Value: Software\Rational Software\Rational Test\8
