QUESTION
----------------------------------

When recording a SilkPerformer script via the SilkTest interface, the resulting bdf file contains no SilkPerformer functions, how can this be resolved?

ANSWER
----------------------------------

To resolve this problem, please ;

  1. Go to Internet Explorer / Tools to open the Internet Options dialog box.
  2. Select the Connections tab.
  3. Click the LAN settings - the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog opens.
  4. Check the "Use a Proxy Server" check box.
  5. In the Address field, specify localhost. And in the Port field, specify 8080.

These particular instructions are documented in the Help notes on the subject.

However, if there are third party tools installed on IE, such as the hotbar control, it can disrupt the interaction between the SilkPerformer recorder and the IE browser. Please uninstall this hotbar feature from IE, reboot and record the SilkPerformer script as before from the SilkTest interface. The resulting bdf file should reflect the expected output of a typical SilkPerformer file.
