Why do I get "Variable @@@@@ is not defined" when I open a Word Document using FileOpen() ?

Why do I get "Variable @@@@@ is not defined" when I open a Word Document using FileOpen() ?

Due to the text and page formatting options used in such Word Processing applications as MS Word the beginning of the file is used to store the formatting of the file. These will be interpreted by the application when opened but if treated, as a flat file the application will try to read the first line as text when in fact it is in binary format. The best options to deal with this would be to;

1 - Read and ignore the first line from the document.

2 - Copy the data into a text file.
