QUESTION

Why does testing browsers using SilkTest 5.5.3.1 or 6.0 take longer ?

ANSWER
----------------------------------

There was a modification done in SilkTest 5.5.3 so that the agent waits until the browser page is fully loaded. This action slows down the testing speed compared to previous versions of SilkTest. A possible solution is to reduce that waiting time. For this you need to modify the domex.ini file. This is done by modifying the value of DOMWaitForReady. The default value is set to 10000msec (or 10 sec). Open Domex.ini and scroll to [Option] and insert: -

DOMWaitForBrowser=1

below it.
