QUESTION
----------------------------------

Is it possible to create a silkperformer .bdf file through a SilkTest script?

ANSWER
----------------------------------

Yes - here are the steps to reproduce.

1. Open Internet Explorer and set up Internet Explorer 5 to use a proxy.
To complete this use the following steps :-

I Launch Internet Explorer 5.

II On Internet Explorer 5, select Tools/Internet Options to open the Internet Options dialog.

III Select the Connections tab.

IV Click the LAN Settings button.
The Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog opens.

V Select the Use a Proxy Server check box.

VI Click Advanced to open the Proxy Settings dialog.

VII In the Address field, specify localhost. In the Port field, specify 8080.

VIII Click OK three times to close all dialogs.

2. Open SilkPerformer and a project and the recorder which should by default be set to port 8080.

3. Open SilkTest and ensure you have the correct settings for the extensions and play back the script.

4. Close the SilkPerformer Recorder after the script has completed and paste this information into a bdf file in SilkPerformer.

****additional note

Close the Browser only after closing SilkPerformer Recorder. If you close the browser before closing the Recorder in SilkPerformer it will cause several problems.
