Silk Test Clients Available for Evaluation

Depending on your personal preferences, prior experience in testing, and your development and testing environment, you can try out the following Silk Test clients for a 30 days period to evaluate whether they apply to your testing process:

Silk Test Workbench

The Silk Test Workbench is the ideal option for Business Analysts, Domain Experts and Automation Experts who focus on ease-of use in their approach to testing. Silk Test Workbench provides a Visual Test option, offering a powerful and intuitive no-coding approach to creating tests visually. A scripting option provides additional power and flexibility and Visual Tests can be combined and enhanced with VB.NET scripts. With Silk Test Workbench, you can record user sessions with your applications to create tests, enhance the test by adding verifications and test logic, and play back tests to ensure that the applications work as expected.

Silk Test Workbench offers two options for developing test automation. You can use:

  1. Visual Tests
  2. VB.NET scripts

Silk4J

Silk4J, Silk Test’s powerful plug-in for Eclipse, is the ideal option for Java developers who require a powerful test automation tool. Silk4J brings the power of Silk Test directly to the Java developer’s preferred environment. Silk4J enables you to create functional tests using the Java programming language, which can easily be integrated with unit test and acceptance test frameworks like FitNesse. Silk4J provides a Java runtime library that includes test classes for all the classes that Silk4J supports for testing. This runtime library is compatible with JUnit, which means you can leverage the JUnit infrastructure and run Silk4J tests. You can also use all available Java libraries in your test cases.

Silk4NET

Silk4NET, Silk Test’s powerful plug-in for Microsoft Visual Studio, is the ideal option for .NET developers who require a powerful test automation tool. Silk4NET brings the power of Silk Test directly to the .NET developer’s preferred environment. Silk4NET enables you to create functional tests using VB.NET or C#, which can easily be integrated with the Microsoft development environment. Silk4NET provides a .NET runtime library that includes test classes for all the classes that Silk4NET supports for testing. This runtime library is compatible with MSTest, which means you can leverage the MSTest infrastructure and run Silk4NET tests. You can also use all available .NET libraries in your test cases.
