Can a script be protected from editing?

Can a Silk Test script be set to read only or protected somehow?

To prevent accidental editing.

You can use the Administration option if your user is an administrator type account. Under Tools > Administration you can set users permission levels by project. Permissions options are: No Access, Read Only, Executor, Script Writer, Full Access.

Thank you, no option to protect the Administrator from himself, right?

It happened today to copy from another similar old script and somehow misteriously I ended up editing it.

The downside to PooJ's suggestion is that those permissions are per-project, not per script. There currently isn't any way to mark an individual asset as read only.

If you made a mistake in a script, you can always revert to an older version. In the Asset Browser, right click the script and select "Show All Versions". This dialog lets you delete a version of the script, or make an old version of the script the active version.

RE: Can a script be protected from editing?

What you could do, is create a master script repository, and copy scripts you like into it, saving them for reference should something take place - we have saved scripts in this fashion from Silk Performer versions 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5, 15, 15.5, 16, ... that way you still have them for reference long after that version of Silk Performer has come and gone.
