Database Connection issue

Trying to attach a new database (a renamed copy of an existing DB) to Silk Test 16.0  But when we try to apply/configure the new DB using the Database management tools, we get this error message:

"The Database is locked for maintenance by another user at this computer:  'computer example"

The funny thing is that the PC being listed as using the DB is the PC that we are currently using!  We tried rebooting, restarting, reopening, reattaching the DB and PC, but to no avail.

Has anyone ever seen this error message before, or perhaps know a fix for something like this?

Thank you.

RE: Database Connection issue

It looks like the Database Maintenance program was interrupted during its processing.  If you know that the database is not being updated or used by anyone else then you can set the following registry setting to allow you to unlock the database.

Branch: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Silk\SilkTest Workbench\DatabaseMaintenance

Item: AllowDBLockRemoval

Value: 1

Now after the message indicating that the database is locked you will get a prompt asking you if you want to remove the lock on the database, e.g.

Would you like to remove the lock on the database?

Answer Yes to this prompt and the database will be unlocked.
