How to capture value of the UI elements to the variable or Active Data sheet

Hi Team,

 

I have a requirement to capture and store one ID from UI of the application for more testing and  that ID  is generated in the middle of testing, please guide on achieving this

In workbench you could follow the following steps:
Wait for the UI element to display on the screen (you need to include the UI element in your Object Map with its locator)
Use the method GetText from the locator to assign the value to a variable; for example:
Return text of 'locator name' and assign the return value to st_LastReturnValue
Then use an expression to assign that value to your Active Data field - similar to:
Expression: Active Data File.field = [st_LastReturnValue]
That is how we have it setup and works well.
