Silk Test workbench database schema error

Jump to solution

PC A has Silk Test V18.5, created visual test cases and stored on the SQL server. Test execution instructions from Silk central worked as expected.

I installed Silk Test V 19.0 on PC B, connected to the SQL database. Now on PC A, the following error appears.

Any hints how do I solve this error.

I used the same SQL database username for PC A and PC B

Thanks!

All PCs that use the same database must use the same version of Silk Test Workbench. You need to install Silk Test 19.0 on PC A in order to use that Silk Test Workbench database on that PC.

Is there any way to stop Silk Test from automatically upgrading the schema? What if someone downloads a new version of ST to try it out and accidently connects to the shared DB. How can you revert to the original Schema?

Unfortunately there is no way to revert back to the schema used by an older version of Silk Test. The only options you have are to have all of your users upgrade to Silk Test 19 as well, or to restore the database using a backup from before the schema was updated.

Upgrading a Workbench database involves quite a lot of user interaction: initially choosing to upgrade the database, confirming that the upgrade should occur, and then confirming that a backup of the database was performed before the upgrade proceeds.
