Why do I receive the DLM error, "application was unable to append the license source to the client configuration"?
If you receive the error "application was unable to append the license source to the client configuration" as seen below:
This error can be indicative of an issue writing to a configuration file and is generally experienced when adding a license file or license server using the DLM (Distributed License Management) tool. To resolve the issue follow the steps below:
1) Open File Explorer and Navigate to C:\Users\Public\.compuware
2) Locate config.xml and perform a right click on it to select 'Properties'
3) If the Attribute 'Hidden' is checked, click the checkbox to uncheck it
4) Click the 'OK' button
5) Open 'DLM' (the Distributed License Management) tool and verify issue is resolved.
