Line breaks in SiteScope HTML email alerts

Hello,

I have created an html email template but SiteScope is adding a <br> for each line in the template. As a workaround, I have put all the html code in the same line but I would like to keep my code indented and clear.

Can SiteScope be configured to not add the <br> tag for each line in the template?

Source code of the html email alert received from SiteScope:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<br><html>
<br><head> <br><title>Title</title> <br></head> <br> <br><body> <br>Some text here <br></body> <br></html>

Thank you,

Antonio

Re: Line breaks in SiteScope HTML email alerts

Hello Antonio,

We hope you are doing good.

Are you seeing this <br> tag on the alert that you received or you are also seeing on the template?

Thank you.

Hope you have a great day.

Best Regards.

Re: Line breaks in SiteScope HTML email alerts

Hi Sttefany,

I have two issues that may be related:

  • <br> tag is added for each line in the template (I can only see this on the source of the email only - not in the alert.log nor the template itself).
  • An exclamation mark symbol is inserted every 1000 characters (more or less) in the email (I can only see this on the source of the email - not in the alert.log nor the template itself).

Please find below pieces of the codes that may help you to understand better the issue I am facing:

################ SOURCE CODE OF THE EMAIL RECEIVED ###############
  - A <br> tag has been added to each line in the template
 - The style attribute of the <div> tag in the last line includes an exclamation mark. This is found every 1000 characters (more or less) along the whole email.

Can it be that SiteScope is removing all lines breaks in the template and entering a <br> html tag to compensate? And then when the smtp receives the mail, sees that the lines are too long and it inserts an exclamation mark to force the line break?

Hope you can help with this. If you need any more info, please let me know.

Thank you,

Antonio J., Piedra
