Run Sequence of Sitescope Monitors Together

Jump to solution

Sitescope gurus,

I have 3 Sitescope dependencies that need to run in order for the desired status to get to the BAC Dashboard, let's call them:

m1

m2

m3

When m1 finds new data and runs a script, m2 then runs to process the output and then disable m3 (as a run dependency) or let m3 find the status. Each run on a 5 minute interval to help reduce excess performance consumption.

The challenge is the latency duration to the dashboard that it takes for all 3 to run.  Worst case: 15+ minutes (5+5+5+SiS>BAC latency).

The question: Can I get m1,m2,m3 to run sequentially (without increasing the frequency) so it's not waiting a potential 5 minute interval after m1 runs.

Example

m1 runs at 12:00

m2 runs at 12:01

m3 runs at 12:02

m1 runs at 12:05

m2 runs at 12:06

m3 runs at 12:07

etc...

Seems like this should be a feature of the tool.

Thanks for your help!

Adam

Hi Adam,

you can use Composite monitor, taking the following instrucctions in account:

1. the monitors you will include into the composite monitor will need to be set the frecuency to 0 (zero)

2. You need to add the monitors in the execution order.

3. The option RunMonitors in Composite configuration have to be enabled it.

4. In your case Monitor Delay option should be set it to 60

This is brilliant! EXACTLY what we needed! Thanks David. I'll be sure to call you when our Sitescope crashes from this 🙂
