SiteScope 11.10 to 11.23 Monitor Migration

Jump to solution

Hello, we are currently planning on moving about 120 000 monitors hosted across 46 production SiteScope Servers all of them are running SiS 11.10 and we plan on moving to 11.23, we know we need to install 11.20 then patch to 11.23 we will use new servers as well so the initial install will be clean.

We currently don't have direct integration with BSM but we will be pursuing this method once we move to 11.23, also we will reduce the amount of servers by around 22 for a total of 24 SiteScope servers.

We need to come up with a plan on sucessfully moving the current monitors to the new servers, and since this is not going to be a 1 to 1 server migration the option to backup/restore is out of the equation.  we were thinking abou using templates to do the move but also were considering API to do this move.

What do you think that would be the best approch for this scenario? Feel free to ask further info if required.

Thanks

You heve a question... I have an aswer!!!

Hi,

The API option would be the same as it relies on templates, there's no copy/paste methods. I'd recommend to do full export/import and then copy remaining monitors via templates.
