Configure StarTeam Search to exclude a project or view

It is possible to prevent the search service from indexing particular projects or views.

This can reduce both the initial indexing time and ongoing overhead of maintaining the search index.

By default your starteam search config file can be found at "C:\Program Files\Borland\StarTeam Server 14.0\Search\config\starteam-search-configs.xml."

To exclude all views in a project enter the following:

       <ExcludedProjectsViews>

       <project excludeAllViews="true" name="Atlas Production Backlog" projectID="216"/>

       </ExcludedProjectsViews>

To exclude individual views in a project use:

<ExcludedProjectsViews>

<project excludeAllViews="false" name="Production Backlog" projectID="216"/>

<view name=”4.0 Release” id=”244”/>

</ExcludedProjectsViews>

A restart of the search service is required for the changes to take effect.
