Resolution:

From StarTeam 12.0 on, attachments are stored in the Vault. This error occurs because attachments have not been moved to the Vault.

To resolve this issue follow these steps:

  1. Shutdown Star Team Server
  2. Take a backup of the database
  3. Run the following update statement on the StarTeam DB:

         update syn_serversettings set dbrevision = 97;
  4. Make sure that the attachment path is set correctly in StarTeam DB (S0 table column F17).  Ensure that this contains the original attachment location from 2006
  5. Save changes
  6. Open ST Admin console
  7. Perform "Actions | Upgrade" on the configuration
  8. Please link this to the original attachments 2006 path again
  9. Check the upgrade log and make sure that all the attachments are converted
  10. Start the ST Server

Once the steps are completed the “DbUpgrade.en-US.log” should no longer output “Missing Attachment file Z:\Attachments\Changes_Attachments\00000000”, and the attachments will be moved to vault.
