Error with NSM Admin and Pending Events

When I try to pull up the pending events list, I receive a "Response had
incorrect format" error after the first 9000 or so events have been read.

Charles,
What version of NSM are you running? Please use the check for updates
link from with in NSMAdmin to see if there are new updates for your NSM
installation.

thanks,

Re: Error with NSM Admin and Pending Events

Charles,
Can you send a dumpconfig to storagemanager-at-novell.com so that we can
help you get to the bottom of this? Please in the email give as much
detail as you can. We will need to know your versions of NetWare
including service packs on Engine, and Sentinel servers.

thanks,
NSM Development

Hi guys,

I only have 133 events in my event queue, yet I get the same message as
soon as I try to get access to the pending events.

No events are displayed in the last when I get the message.

I'm trying to abort events trying to created group storage when the
group folder already exists.

Re: Error with NSM Admin and Pending Events

Hello,

I'm sorry if I seem dumb, but how do I do a "dumpconfig" ? I can't find
any reference to that in the documentation or on storemanager.com.

regards

Re: Error with NSM Admin and Pending Events

Florian,

There are actually two was to take a dumpconfig.

1. Login to NSMAdmin, choose Admin Dashboard, Utilities, and select
dumpconfig.
-OR-
2. Remote console to the Engine server and type the following at the
System Console prompt:
fsfengin dumpconfig

Either way a dumpconfig.txt file will be generated and put in the
FACTORY directory of the Engine server.

thanks,
NSM Development

Re: Error with NSM Admin and Pending Events

I'm still looking for information on this problem. I have pending events
that seem to be stuck, but I can't manage the pending events because of this
error.

Hello,

that bug is getting very annoying. We have to reinstall NSM every 2
weeks to get ride of "incorrect format" that get in the way of regular
events.

Is there anything planned to fix it some day ?

We were so fed up with the "incorrect format" that we looked today into
the debug file.

And guess what, we found out the problem : we have groups with ampere in
the name like "R&D banking".

when NSM try to handle a group with an ampere he generate the "incorrect
format"

To get ride of such event, we checked into database/pending all files to
find the one with the ampere, erased that file and restarted NSM.

And voila, we can access all pending events again.
