File Replication on NetWare

Hi,

not sure if that is the right forum.

We are looking for a Novell solution that will allow us to replicate data from one NetWare 6.5 server to another.

Even better would be if that solution would also allow us to replicate between NetWare and SLES.

Thanks for ideas.

Re: File Replication on NetWare

well, for straight netware file replication, the gold standard is
taskmaster from avanti-tech.com. think of it as rsync that really
works (and does much more too)...

but if you need sles, taskmaster can't currently do that so maybe rsync
will have to do (unless Steve jumps in with some nifty beta
announcement or something....)...

Re: File Replication on NetWare

Well what do you mean by replication... "mirroring" or copy this folder
from this server to that server on a triggered basis?

NSM 2.1 will have the ability to create an Action Object (eDirectory
object) that NSM will use to place an action on its queue.

NSM 2.1 is not due out until later this summer.

thanks,
NSM Development

Re: File Replication on NetWare

ok, thanks for your replies.

Actually, we mean copying on a triggered basis, so no mirroring or real-tiem synchronization.

NSM 2.1 sounds intersting, but then, I think that is overkill since we only need this feature, not all the rest NSM offers.

I'll have a look at taskmaster.

Re: File Replication on NetWare

taskmaster offers more than just the file sync but there are multiple
versions of the product as well....
