queued=-4 ?

Hi,

I have a message on the NSM server saying that it's skipping an event
because the copy queue on the remote server is full. On the concerned
remote server on the NSM Sentinel screen I get :

SentinelCopy: Queued=-4 In-Progress=0 Maximum=3

Is this any good? nothing seems to copy...

Many thanks

Oliver

Re: queued=-4 ?

Oliver,
The negative number in the queued section of the SentinalCopy section is
an issue fixed by fsfevent v2.00.08.

The skipping of the events that you are seeing on the Engine console is
the Engine skipping over pending events in the Engine queue while it
waits for the Sentinel component to be able to handle more work. Note
these events are not being missed, the Engine will come back to them
later when the Sentinel is able to accept events.

Depending on the hardware you can increase the maximum copies the
Sentinel can handle at once value from 3 to something like 20 or 30.
This can be changed at the servers system console by typing
'fsfevent maxcopydir=20' without unloading fsfevent.nlm. This will let
the Sentinel take on up to 20 copies at a time.

If you want to retain this value on subsequent restarts please add the
maxcopydir to the fsfevent load line using the follow syntax.

LOAD SYS:/FACTORY/FSFEVENT -S<ENGINE SERVER> -MAXCOPYDIR 20 (case
insensitive)

Hope this helps,

NSM Development
