Configure service propagation rules use type of alerts on OMW version 9

Dear Experts,

I am using OMW version 9.

I am building service tree and i use serverity for propagation rules, it's well.

But i want the service tree to reflect based on type of alerts.
Example: server down is also critcal alert and CPU hight is also critical alert. I want parent group to reflect as critical only when my child group server is down and not when there is a critical CPU alert.

Anyone has experienced about this, please help me.

The best idea is to create a child object  CPU and use propagation rules and calculation rule configure it. Also you can  change sevirety message  from CPU.

Re: Configure service propagation rules use type of alerts on OMW version 9

Thank Denis,

You mean i have to config severity critical only node down and all another montoring (ex: CPU,memory, service, application ) have severity as Marjor/minnor/warning/normal?

I think it does not good ideal for monitoring?

Do you have another solution?

Re: Configure service propagation rules use type of alerts on OMW version 9

Hi,

By default HP OMW only works based on the type of severity (service ID). But in my case

I want to configure the service tree to reflect based on type of alerts.

Example: server down is critcal alert and Memory hight is critical alert.

But I want parent group service to reflect as critical only when my child service grp server is down and not when there is a critical memory hight performance alert.

If use service ID so parent group service as critical when there is a critcal memory hight alert,
