OA Support Tip: Changing Agent default ports on OMW
Operations Manager for Windows allow you to change to listening port of the agents, following is a tip on how to enable this option successfully.
On OM server:
The server will not look for different ports on regular groups, hence it is recommended that you create a group that will contain all the nodes that will be using an specific port.
The agent or agents listening on specific ports need to be grouped by IP addresses, FQDNs, host-names and then the management server needs to be configured so that when it needs to communicate with the agents listening on non-default ports it will know which port to use.
The example below configures the management server to communicate with all agents on port 2000 where the FQDN of the agent ends in hp.com.
ovconfchg -ns bbc.cb.ports -set PORTS *.hp.com:2000
On the agent:
To change the agent to listen on a new port use the following command:
ovconfchg -ns bbc.cb -set SERVER_PORT 2000
For more information consult the firewall documentation which can be found on the documentation portal KM829492.
