OM9 keeps connecting to old DB after upgrade to new DB

Jump to solution

After upgraded the oracle db from version 11 to version 12.1, I have updated the below files with the new db "SHPOAC" details. But it still keeps connecting to the old DB "hpo-b-et-a2-grid". Is there any files that I have miss out?

    - /ora/product/11.2.0/client/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
    - /etc/opt/OV/share/conf/ovdbconf
    - /opt/OV/OMU/adminUI/conf/opccfg.properties
    - /opt/OV/OMU/adminUI/conf/ovoappl.properties
    - /opt/OV/OMU/adminUI/conf/ovoconfig.properties
    - /opt/OV/OMU/adminUI/conf/ovoinstall.properties

- OM version: 09.21.130 ITOSOL_00819

#  cat /ora/product/11.2.0/client/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
SHPOAC =
 (DESCRIPTION =
   (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ab3n1d05.nl.eu.abnamro.com)(PORT = 24001))
   (CONNECT_DATA =
     (SERVER = DEDICATED)
     (SERVICE_NAME = SHPOAC)
   )
 )

# tnsping SHPOAC

Used TNSNAMES adapter to resolve the alias

Hello,

One important setting is missing:

ovconfchg -ovrg server -ns opc -set DATABASE <new-tns-alias>

To test if OM is able to connect, you can run this command (it just reads the character set from the DB, but that will tell you if OM is able to connect):

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/install/opc_dflt_lang

Best regards,
Tobias

How to configure it to point to the new DB?

To be specific (since you shared your tnsnames.ora):

ovconfchg -ovrg server -ns opc -set DATABASE  SHPOAC

Best regards,
Tobias
