Threshold policy for memory of multiple instances of java process

Jump to solution

I am trying to monitor the workling set size of multiple java instances. I set up a Threshold policy  with the following:

Source Type - Real Time Performance Measurement

Object - Process

Counter - Working Set

Instance - java

Processing Option - Process each instance separately

The policy only reports for the first java instance. Using PerfMon I see processes named java, java#1, java#2, java#3.  Using the Browse on Node option in the policy source, I only see four instances named java.

Is there a way to do this?

You will probably have to use instance filters - do not specify instance name in the policy source and then on the rules tab use instance filter where you specify object name as "java<*>" or similar
