A tool to gather all needed customers' data and to remove all private information

A UFT Mobile customer faces some non-reproducible issues and we often require the customer to provide their logs or parameters. However the customer must spend much time (e.g. half a day) on the following operations.

1) gather all needed logs/parameters

2) remove all private information

3) merge all the above into a few small size files and compress them.

If this product prepares a tool for the above like WebInspect, red long-open cases will be reduced.

UFT Mobile has the following functionality. Settings the value “Sanitize log reports” to true seems IP addresses are excluded from device.log files.

However, the sanitation can't remove all private information like mail addresses and employee numbers etc.

From the menu on the top right you can download a zip with the UFTM server and connectors logs. Please elaborate if there is additional information which is required often and you suggest to include.

As discussed through email, please send us the example log with the additional information needs to be masked, i.e. employee number.

Hello Yaron

I'm sorry for having kept you wait for a long time.

Here is the private information of a big UFT Mobile customer.

No Item Format Example
1 IP Address IPv4 and IPv6 172.232.165.255
2 Mail address xxxx@xxx yoshi01.watabe@g.softbank.co.jp
3 Employee number 10 numerical digits (0~9) 0965432871
4 app number 10 numerical/alphbet digits (0~9 / a~z / A ~ Z) 0aB12colOC7

If the tool removes the above, we can ask the customer to get their data more easily and close some cases sooner.

Do you have any updates ?

The big customer still has many (17) issues though they moved from UFT Mobile 3.2 to UFT Mobile 3.4.

Then we must ask them to provide log files. However,  the customer can't often go to their office to get the data under the pandemic.

Thank you so much.

My customer has moved its test environment from UFT Mobile 3.4 Patch 2 to UFT Mobile 3.5.

Today I asked him to try your kind help when we asked him to provide some logs to us.

After he confirms UFT Mobile 3.5 fixes all issues, he'll ask 500 users to help the same migration in their production system.
