ALM Lab Management - "Failed to Perform Initialization Handshake"

We have been trying to work with lab management for few months now. However, never for it to work as the functional test set execution, & 'check host' both fails

ALM Lab Service could not connect to testing tool for check host "Failed to Perform Initialization Handshake".

Anyone using Lab Management successfully to have tests run on schedule with auto-login? This is a much needed requirement for years with UI test automation and free our minds from the restriction of running UI test automation on machines with no user logged in.

We are on HP ALM 11.53 (build 536), UFT 12.0 and UFT 12.02 Patch 1

Thanks!

Prakash

In order to fix it, you need to disable UAC from host machine. It works.

Re: ALM Lab Management - "Failed to Perform Initialization Handshake"

My company enforces UAC being on.

I had similar issues setting up Lab Services but got it running with UAC on.

1. The version of UFT does not matter - its all about Lab Services.

2. The Windows Service must be set up correctly. - see reading http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Quality-Center-Support-Customer/Lab-Service-error-handshake-QTP-11-Win-7/m-p/6457580/highlight/true#M2490

3. The install location must have write permissions

4. The Lab Service log provides great information on where it is going wrong.
