API Test - Excel Data Source "Too Many Fields"

Jump to solution

Hello,

When we go to make a change to any of our Excel files that are currently being used as a Data Source in our API Tests we end up with an error the next time we run our scripts stating "Too many fields". To correct this, we simply open up the Excel file again, click in a cell, and hit save. Is this a known issue? Are there steps that can be taken to keep this from happening?

Hi cajst913,

Hope you are doing fine!

Regarding the problem, it isnt a know issue however we need more information about your scenario:

  1. Could you please specify what do you mean with fields? Columns or rows or both
  2. What version of UFT are you using?
  3. Please specify the exact steps you are following to reproduce the issue.
  4. Please send a screenshot of the error message.
  5. If you could provide a simple sample test it would be great
