FF21.0 with UFT 11.52

Jump to solution

Hi,

After installing the UFT 11.52 i am unable to spy any objects in the FF21.0

It displays as Window. Do i need to follow anyother steps in order to make the FF21.0 recognized by UFT 11.52

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Murali

Hi,

Did you enable UFT extension for Firefox?

To enable it in Firefox, Open Add-ons->Extensions->Click Enable button for Unified Functional Testing extension and then restart Firefox.

BTW, if you don't see it. Try to close UFT and Firefox. Run UFT in administrator and open Firefox to check the extension again.

Thanks and Best Regards

Alex Wang

Hi Murali,

Did you have it work before the upgrade?

UFT 11.52 supports FF21

Also, when you say "it does not spy", do you have problems focusing on what you want?

I am asking because I had it before that the Object Spy focuses on the Window frame of the browser but not in its actual elements.

OK so it does find the window of Firefox but it does not really focus on its "insides".

I had this with IE8 and IE9 as well.

It´s pretty random and what i do is restart UFT, sometimes the machine, after having cleaned the broswer´s cache.

I know it might not be of much help but...

Yes you will.

I would upgrade 11.00 to 11.52 though as a preference (free).

Hi Murali,

As I saw from the screenshots, there maybe 2 things that you need to do:

1. Select Web Add-in when loading UFT.

2. Configure Firefox support for UFT. UFT doesn't automatically configure its extension for Firefox. Read my post here on how to make it work

http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Unified-Functional-Testing/Firefox-option-not-available-in-record-and-run-session-dropdown/m-p/6108767#M4712

Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks,

Hai
