How to disable steps in UFT API Tests?

I've an API test which has around 20 steps inside it. I should be execute the same flow in two different testing environments. But for second testing environement I need to disable some of the steps of existing 20.

Is there any way to disable the steps dynamically based on one external input(may be excel value)? So that I can execute the respective steps based on given input(environement name).

(or)

Atleast do we have an option to disable to API steps?

Re: How to disable steps in UFT API Tests?

Hi!

I hope that you are okay!

After doing some research I was unable to find something to dynamically disable an step based on the input , i believe that it is not possible, however there is way to disable the step "manually"  in order to do so, you will have to go to your API test on the respective enviornment, in the test flow of the API test, locate the step that you would like to disable right click on the step/activity and hit disable step, it will be like "gray out" you can enable back the test by doing the same steps just that locate option that says "enable step"

I hope that this is helpful for you!

Francisco

HI Francisco,

Thank you for your response.

Initially, I started with the same idea of searching for disabling step. But couldn't find the option.

Please refer to the attachment of my screenshot.

Please attach your screenshot if you've that option on your flow.
