How to have fixed value which was generated by excel

Hell,

I am using UFT to read a value from excel cell which has a formula. During run time, value of the cell is keep changing. Is there any settings in excel that will prevent from changing the value. I simply like to see the value generated each time the file is opened. After that, the value should remain as-is. How can I have an excel generated value stay fixed after excel generated the value first time?

Thanks.

Re: How to have fixed value which was generated by excel

hi

How about putting the value from the Excel into a variable? Or if it is to be shared across actions, make it a value assigned to the global sheet?

Thanks.

I have not used the UFT data table. My code simply access data from excel and then directly enters into application. I will have to restructure the code if I want to use data table. I am not sure why excel is keep generating the values during run time?

Sounds like there might be a Workbook_Open sub in your spreadsheet. If there is comment it out.
