Identify the Java search list items

I have a stadalone java application that maintains inventory, say books, and when I search for a book, say "time", I get the list of books that contain the tag "time". I would like to read each list item and compare the contents to identify a specific item to select.

I can select each item my their ID, i.e., JavaList.select "0" or JavaList.select "1" however, I would like to read the contents of each list item and compare if it has specific text, if so then select it.

I've tried getitem but it only gives the search query result string used by the java code (e.g: javautil.query1.result@bbasedwe) and not the contents like "Time is Money edition 2"

Appreciate any pointers.
