Migrating from QTP 11 to UFT12

Hi,

I have migrated scripts from QPT11 to UFT12. It looks like a simple transition but when I started running the scripts it is crashing the website. Firstly the frequency was slow then it stopped running even a single test case.

Please let me know if I missed something during migrating the scripts. SCripts works fine in QTP11.

Thanks,
~G

When the web site crashes, have you check the resources of the system where the tests are executing? Has all the memory been consumed? Has all the CPU been consumed?

Does your system meet the minimum requirements for supporting UFT 12, and for supporting the website you are testing?

Thanks for the prompt reply! I have checked the memory and CPU usage. It is just using 2.34 GB RAM and 18-30% CPU usage. I tried to use IE 11 but still getting this crashing error message.

Thanks,

What type of scripts are they?

What are you testing?

Can you be more specific on the operations you perfom on the webpage please?

Thanks.

Hi,

These are QTP 11 scripts for an application in asp.net. We are using descriptive programming. There is no object in OR. We are running the application in IE 8 version.

Is it something that we missed while migrated from QTP 11 to UFT12? Scripts are running fine in QTP11.

Thanks

In any case talk with the developers. Explain what you do exactly and tell them most likely found a performance issue.

That´s what testing is about! hehehe

But if the previous response stated that the tests still run successfully in QTP11, then how can it be a development issue?

Hi

I have encountered the same issue while re executing some scripts in UFT 12.54 that were running fine in QTP 11 , they were written in DP ofcourse , so they are not having any OR associated. But to make a successful execution I had to associate the OR once again and then the codes started to execute with elan.
