QTP/UFT support tip: How disable Activex Add-in.

1) Close QTP and AUT.

2) Open regedit.

3) Navigate to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\MicTest\ActiveX Add-in\ProgID]
4) Add new key

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\MicTest\ActiveX Add-in\ProgID\Dummy.ProgId]

5) For this new key add new value.

Trapping mode 1 (exclusive) instructs QTP to hook the specified ActiveX only and ignore all other controls. Since Dummy.ProgId doesn't really exists in your AUT that will instruct QuickTest to inject the ActiveX agent but ignore all ActiveX controls in your AUT.

Best Regards.
