(UFT/MC) Support tip: Web identification issues with Android devices

Hi there,

The latest Chrome mobile browser (version 66), released few days ago, is not supported by Mobile Center versions 2.60 and below out-of-the-box. This means that automation tools, like UFT, won’t be able to identify Web test objects from it. This also affects other apps that make use of WebView to display web content on native apps.

From UFT’s object spy, we can see that only Device test object is retrieved:

In order to confirm what Chrome version is installed, you can navigate to www.whatismybrowser.com from your device.

As workaround, you can uninstall the latest Chrome updates on the device.

At this point, a private fix has been already created by Micro Focus labs (applicable on MC 2.60). Feel free to submit a support case to request it.
