UFT: unable to modify/update existing tsr files

We have used QTP11.5 earlier and now we moved to UFT 12.0... while running the older scripts we have got some identification issue. so we tried to update the existing property values but it's not getting updated/ adding also not happening where as a new tsr file is easily capturing the same property values. This is for webtable we found. Request you if you are familiar with similar issue please share the resolution.

Re: UFT: unable to modify/update existing tsr files

Try this. Export the OR as xml files & import them back as tsr. Then edit the object properties.

Re: UFT: unable to modify/update existing tsr files

Hi Sidd,

Verify that you are updating the correct Object Repository, because the stored objects can easily be confused if both a local and a shared Object Repository are used. Make sure that you are not updating the local Object Repository and the script uses the objects from the shared Object Repository (or vice versa).

Re: UFT: unable to modify/update existing tsr files

As you said, you have copied over the automation assets from one folder to other, please check if you have also copied over .lck files, which might have locked your TSRs.

If so, delete those .lck files, and try opening the TSRs for edit.

Let me know if this works!

Re: UFT: unable to modify/update existing tsr files

No .lck file present.

Moreover export to xml and importing back to tsr also not working.

This issue observed typically observed for Web elements and Web tables. No clue. If you have any idea please post here.

Do we need to install any patch for IE 11 support with UFT, if so request you to provide me the link to download
