Windows 10, IE11, UFT12.54 impacting browser behavior

Good Morning,

Installed a UFT trial on a new laptop in advance of our new contract licenses with the below config and am experiencing odd issues.

UFT12.54 trial, Windows 10 64bit, IE11 32bit

  • Executed a descriptive test script against Google which ran through a few searches and everything worked fine.
  • Some sites, such as this site, do not respond to the mouse scroll wheel if UFT is open. The scroll works fine if the same sites are re-opened with UFT closed.
  • Attempting to navigate to our AUT, which is a j2ee web app, results in IE11 stopping immediately without ever landing. The site uses some legacy code, so browsers open in IE8 mode. Worked fine previously with Windows 7 64bit, UFT 12.5 and IE11 32bit. Tried adding the site to trusted and enabling all activex etc. Tried compatibility list etc. The following is displayed in Event Viewer on fail:

Faulting application name: IEXPLORE.EXE, version: 11.0.14393.0, time stamp: 0x57899082

Faulting module name: Windows.UI.Xaml.dll, version: 10.0.14393.351, time stamp: 0x5801a7ad

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Re: Windows 10, IE11, UFT12.54 impacting browser behavior

Just out of curiousity I opened ie using "iexplore -extoff" to disable all add-ons and navigated to the url of the AUT. If UFT is open, the browser immediately stops working. If UFT is closed the site is loaded as expected.

How is UFT still affecting the browser's behavior if the "HP Functional Testing Agent" isn't even loaded?

*Edit: Noticed that is isn't just the AUT, but any website that results in the Windows Security dialog displaying crashes if UFT is open.

I'm also getting the same error.  My web application displays the Windows Security dialog and IE11 crashes immediately regardless of UFT is open or not. Did you ever found or received a solution from Microsoft/or HP?
