<UFT Support Tip> What to do when Java related Activities do not run at all in UFT API test

When using UFT API java related activities the Java Heap Size may affect the execution of such activities. This could lead to a symptom when trying to run the test it will display only Start – End in the Output pane without further error or warning messages of what could have cause the test not to run.


Also the UFT logs won’t show exact stack trace of the problem.


It has been investigated that Java Heap Size may impact the execution of the java related API activities as the JMS activities or Java Call activities in some machines.


To overcome the problem the maximum heap sizes can be changed using the “Additional VM Parameters” option found in the test settings and using a value of –Xms256M or –Xms128M. User will have to test what value works better for any particular machine.  Here is a screenshot of how to supply this value:
