QTP/UFT Support Tip: HP Run Results Viewer error: “Could not load run result.”

Hello everyone,

 

I have seen many users complaining about this topic in the past. When opening a Results.qtp file (from a test results folder) to view the test results with the new HP Run Results Viewer (QuickTest Professional 11 and above), the following error is displayed:

 

 

Cause: The “Could not load run result” error is displayed because the new Run Results Viewer does not support the .qtp file extension to open results.

 

Workaround: By design, it is necessary to open the Results.xml file (contained on the same folder as theResults.qtp file) to view the results.
