QTP/UFT Support Tip: How to improve runtime performance in Silverlight tests
There are cases in which the runtime performance in QTP/UFT is affected in tests against Silverlight applications. To improve performance you can try the following changes in QTP/UFT (for QTP 11 only, make sure to have Installed the QTPNET_00120 hotfix already):
- Open the Object Identification dialog box (Tools > Object Identification).
- For each Silverlight test object, add the 'devnamepath' property in the Mandatory Properties area.
- To apply this fix to test objects in existing object repositories, run your tests for Silverlight applications in Update Run Mode (Automation > Update Run Mode).
- Additionally, try to disable the Active Screen capture feature (go to Tools -> Options -> Active Screen, and set the Capture Level to "None").
I hope this helps.
